Read energy prices against production and inventories
What energy costs and what the United States produces and stores, from the Energy Information Administration, plus a separate World Bank Pink Sheet selector that broadens the page to 90 commodities. WTI crude settled at $84.77 a barrel on Aug 11, 2026 and Brent at $93.26, a +8.49 Brent premium; Henry Hub natural gas spot was $2.79 per MMBtu. Underneath the prices, US crude field production ran 13.8 million barrels a day, commercial crude stocks (excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve) stood at 424 million barrels, and working gas in Lower-48 underground storage held 3,153 billion cubic feet. The Pink Sheet block below keeps its nominal vs real variants and unit-based price vs index classification explicit rather than blending them into one commodity line.
Data as of World Bank Pink Sheet through Jul 1, 2026; EIA spot prices through Aug 11, 2026, weekly supply and inventories through Aug 7, 2026
World Bank Pink Sheet
This is the broad commodity block: 90 Pink Sheet commodities from Jan 1, 1960 to Jul 1, 2026. Frequency and variant are both explicit controls. Only the 6 slice pairs the file actually contains are selectable, and whatever is shown below names its commodity, frequency, variant, price/index classification and unit.
Commodity "Agriculture" is not present on this slice, so the page shows Crude oil, Brent, the stated default commodity when available and otherwise the slice's first alphabetical commodity. Showing Crude oil, Brent, a nominal price with unit $/bbl, with coverage Jan 1, 1960 to Jul 1, 2026.

Crude oil, Brent price: the World Bank and EIA prints stay separate
Source: World Bank Commodity Markets Pink Sheet (CC BY 4.0) | EIA Brent spot (months with at least 80% of weekdays observed) (PET.RBRTE.D) Unit is taken directly from the parquet row ($/bbl), never from a hardcoded commodity map. The EIA line is shown separately as EIA Brent spot (months with at least 80% of weekdays observed). The EIA monthly mean is shown for months with at least 80% of weekdays observed; otherwise the EIA point is NULL. Divergence statistics use only the 470 months present in both sources. At the latest common month, Jul 1, 2026, the Pink Sheet read 83.4 $/bbl against 83.759 on EIA, a −0.359 $/bbl gap. No splice is attempted. Methodology
Crude oil prices
WTI rose over the year while Brent retained a premium
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration, petroleum and natural gas spot prices Daily spot, free-on-board. WTI begins 1986 and Brent 1987, so the earliest WTI-only stretch shows no Brent line. Spot means physical delivery now, not a futures contract; the CFTC positioning page carries the WTI futures contract, not Brent. Methodology
Natural gas prices
Henry Hub is down over the year and near its annual low
Daily US natural-gas spot prices in dollars per MMBtu. Henry Hub was $2.79 on Aug 11, 2026, −8.5% over the year and near the low end of a 52-week range that ran from $2.54 to $30.72 (gas spot spikes hard on cold snaps, then falls back).
Natural gas inventories
US gas storage is little changed from a year ago
Weekly Lower-48 working gas in underground storage in billion cubic feet. Inventories were 3,153 Bcf in the week of Aug 7, 2026, +0.7% against a year earlier, inside a 52-week band of 1,818 to 3,950 Bcf as the storage year swings from winter draw to summer injection.
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration, Weekly Petroleum Status Report and Natural Gas Storage Henry Hub spot is daily; the storage report is weekly (Thursdays, for the prior Friday), Lower-48 working gas. The sharp storage sawtooth is the natural gas year: draw through winter, inject through summer. A single daily gas-spot print can spike far above the range during extreme cold and revert within days. Methodology
Retail fuel prices
Diesel costs more than gasoline and both are higher than a year ago
Weekly US average retail fuel prices in dollars per gallon across the full EIA history. Where the crude price reaches households. The US average retail price of gasoline (all grades) was $4.141 a gallon in the week of Aug 10, 2026, +26.8% over the year; on-highway No. 2 diesel, the fuel that moves freight, was $5.257, +38.3% over the year and $1.12 above gasoline. Retail fuel lags crude by weeks and never falls as fast as it rises.

Crude oil production
US crude production is near its annual high
Weekly US crude field production in million barrels per day across the full EIA history. Production ran 13.8 million barrels a day in the week of Aug 7, 2026, +3.9% over the year, near the top of its 52-week range (13.2 to 13.9 million a day): the shale build that lifted US output to record highs is the long climb in this line.
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration, Weekly Petroleum Status Report and Natural Gas Storage Weekly, from the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report. Production is field production of crude only (not total liquids). Methodology
Crude oil inventories
US commercial crude stocks are little changed from a year ago
Weekly US commercial crude inventories in million barrels across the full EIA history. Stocks, which exclude the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, were 424 million barrels, +0.2% against a year earlier. Rising stocks with flat demand weigh on price; falling stocks tighten it.
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration, Weekly Petroleum Status Report and Natural Gas Storage Weekly, from the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report. Stocks exclude the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, so this is the commercial inventory the market trades against. Methodology
