Rankings

Every economy’s own latest reading for each country-page indicator, ranked highest first. These are the same distributions the country pages’ peer lines are computed from, under the identical filters, so a rank here and a peer line there can never disagree. Latest years differ across economies where reporting lags; each table shows the year beside the value. To set two economies side by side across all of these indicators, use the compare tool.

A rank is a position in a distribution, not a score. For indicators where lower is safer (nonperforming loans, the credit gap, the debt service ratio), the table says so. Construction is documented in the country methodology.

Current soundness (IMF FSI)

Deposit-taker core set, annual through 2024 or 2025 depending on the country; coverage varies by indicator.

Financial depth and soundness (World Bank GFDD)

GFDD values end in 2021, the dataset's last release year; an economy's latest reading can be older.

Credit cycle (BIS)

A fixed BIS reporting set of roughly 44 advanced and major emerging economies, not the whole world; property prices reach further.

Financial inclusion (Global Findex)

Survey waves (2011, 2014, 2017, 2021, 2024); an economy's latest reading is its most recent wave.
